The Los Angeles Kings announced on Saturday that they have re-signed defenseman Mikey Anderson on a one-year, $1 million contract.

Anderson recorded eight points in 57 games last season, and added one point in seven playoff appearances. The 23-year-old has tallied four goals and 16 assists in 117 career NHL games, all with the Kings.

Chosen by Los Angeles with the 103rd overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft, Anderson spent two seasons at the University of Minnesota Duluth, where he won back-to-back NCAA National Championships with the Bulldogs.

The Roseville, Minnesota native made the jump to the professional level in 2019, playing 53 games with the AHL's Ontario Reign before being called up for his NHL debut with the Kings on Feb. 29, 2020.

Anderson has represented the United States on two occasions at the IIHF World Junior Championships, earning a bronze medal in 2018 and a silver medal as team captain in 2019.
