KKR to buy Envision Healthcare, engines issues for Dreamliner jets, Microsoft's gaming initiatives

Here’s a look at some of the companies the Yahoo Finance team will be watching for you today.

Private equity firm KKR (KKR) is buying Envision Healthcare (EVHC) for more than $5.5B, plus some $4B in debt. Envision provides doctors for some emergency rooms and facilities – and put itself up for sale amid a disappointing performance.

New trouble today for Boeing’s (BA) 787 Dreamliner. Rolls Royce says it’s found more issues with the compressors on a small number of jet engines made for those planes. Dozens of jets will have to be taken out of service for inspections. At the same time, Rolls reportedly plans to cut some 4,000 jobs as part of a turnaround plan.

Microsoft (MSFT) is expanding into online gaming and exclusive titles. The tech giant is forming a new studio and buying U.K. based Playground Games, as part of a push to boost Xbox. It also announced plans to launch a game streaming service. The moves are seen as a challenge to Sony and its dominant PlayStation console.

More people will soon be able to get those prime discounts at Amazon’s (AMZN) Whole Foods stores. Amazon says it’s expanding the program to 10 more states, including Georgia, the Carolinas, Oregon and Washington State. That means customers in nearly half of Whole Foods’s US locations will now be eligible for the discounts.
