Lam Research Earnings, Revenue Beat in Q2

Investing.com - Lam Research (NASDAQ:LRCX) reported on Wednesday second quarter earnings that beat analysts' forecasts and revenue that topped expectations.

Lam Research announced earnings per share of $4.01 on revenue of $2.58B. Analysts polled by Investing.com anticipated EPS of $3.84 on revenue of $2.51B. That with comparison to EPS of $3.87 on revenue of $2.52B in the same period a year before. Lam Research had reported EPS of $3.18 on revenue of $2.17B in the previous quarter. Analysts are expecting EPS of $3.96 and revenue of $2.57B in the upcoming quarter.

Lam Research shares are up 1.99% from the beginning of the year and are trading at $311.90 , still down 5.76% from its 52 week high of $316.44 set on January 24. They are under-performing the Nasdaq 100 which is up 3.4% year to date.

Lam Research shares gained 4.59% in after-hours trade following the report.

Lam Research's report follows an earnings missed by Boeing on Wednesday, who reported EPS of $-2.33 on revenue of $17.91B, compared to forecasts EPS of $0.6 on revenue of $21.65B.

United Technologies had beat expectations on Tuesday with fourth quarter EPS of $1.94 on revenue of $19.55B, compared to forecast for EPS of $1.84 on revenue of $19.4B.
