Leading Ukrainian IT company GlobalLogic acquires Australia's Katzion
GlobalLogic Inc., a leading IT company based in Ukraine and part of the Hitachi Group, has acquired Sydney-based Katzion, an Australian engineering firm specializing in applications for the automotive industry, Ukrainian Forbes reported on Dec. 13.
The terms of the deal have not been disclosed however Katzion will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of GlobalLogic, and will continue to operate with its current management and staff.
The acquisition is expected to allow GlobalLogic to expand its offerings in the automotive industry and explore new segments such as micromobility and car rental.
By leveraging Katzion's expertise, GlobalLogic will offer new direct-to-customer service lines to help automotive companies focus on the customer throughout the vehicle lifecycle. The acquisition also expands GlobalLogic's geographic reach into regions such as Australia and Spain.
Founded in 2017, Katzion provides specialized services in CRM consulting, digitalization, automation, and connected systems for the automotive industry.
GlobalLogic is one of the top five IT companies in Ukraine with offices in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv and Mykolaiv, working with over 5,000 specialists.
More than 90% of GlobalLogic's developments in Ukraine are complex R&D projects. The company helps design and create innovative products, platforms, and digital solutions.
The company specializes in various industries, including automotive vehicles, financial services, communications, healthcare, media and entertainment, semiconductors, and technology.
GlobalLogic is headquartered in Silicon Valley, USA, with engineering and design centers around the world. More than 7,500 specialists cooperate with it in Ukraine.
Earlier, it was reported that GlobalLogic predicted a 10-15% decline in the Ukrainian IT market by the end of this year.
In 2021, Japan's Hitachi completed the acquisition of GlobalLogic with offices in Ukraine.
