Is Life Draining? Here's How You Can Manifest Exactly What You Want to Change

Manifestation has always been a big buzzword in the wellness and spiritual world, but recently, interest in learning how to manifest has grown exponentially because, well, let’s face it: If we want to manifest miracles in our lives, 2020 is the year to do it. But what exactly is manifestation in the first place?

“Manifestation is asking for what you want and then expecting to receive it,” master manifestation coach Kathleen Cameron tells HelloGiggles. “Everything in your physical world right now is a manifestation. The home you live in, the job or business you have, the way you spend your days.”

The ability to “manifest” anything sounds magical, right? It’s almost like pulling a bunny out of a hat after chanting, “Abracadabra!” But is it really that easy? Skeptics might think the concept of being able to manifest anything and everything sounds more than a little “woo woo.” However, Shanna Lee, intuitive healer and author of The Soul Frequency: Your Healthy, Awakened and Authentic Life, points out that true manifestation is linked to quantum science.

“The fundamental rule in quantum science is that you can’t observe the world as it is because observation changes the molecular structure of reality,” she says. “The fact that observation changes reality means reality is not fixed, that a person’s observation has the power to shift reality. We not only have input on reality, we are at the cause of many changes in reality.”

For the science nerds, quantum theory tells us an electron is both a particle and a wave, which means we can never be certain how it will behave. There’s an electric field for every known particle, and the thing that we perceive to be a particle is actually a localized vibration of that field.

In terms of how that all fits with manifestation, Lee says we supply energy to the electric field in the form of thoughts and intentions, which creates particle collisions, causing them to vibrate.

“When we hear that 'new matter' has been discovered, this means that we’ve caused the field to vibrate through our attention and intention and are now observing the resulting vibrations,” says Lee. “This is foundational to understanding how human beings can focus their thoughts and intentions towards a possible outcome and cause a vibration in that field, creating new matter or magnetizing a certain outcome to show up in their reality.”

Science aside, if you want to learn how to manifest in your own life, experts explain below.

How to manifest:

1. You need to change your vibrational frequency.

When it comes to manifesting what you want in your life—whether it’s a new job, a new relationship, or a creative project—you must first set your vibration at the right frequency to call in what you want to bring into your life.

“When you, in the present, match the vibration or frequency of the version of you that is already experiencing your desired outcome, in the Field of Probability, you can attract—like how a radio receives the radio waves on the frequency it is tuned to—your desired outcome to you in the present,” explains Tracy Webster, co-author, along with her husband, Steve Webster, of The Law of Creation. “This is why we have been coached to ‘already act like you have what it is you desire.' When you understand that this version of you already exists and when you can imagine in the present how you feel in this desired reality and begin feeling the same in the present, you begin to match its energy and become it in the present. Manifestation is all about where you’re vibrating.”

2. Be mindful of what you choose to think.

In order for your vibe to match what you want to manifest, you must pay attention to your thoughts and what you’re putting out into the world. Essentially, you want to consciously co-create with the universe by upping your confidence and faking it til you make it.

“Manifestation is like breathing. We are all automatically doing it, whether we are conscious of it or not,” says Lee. “The concept that some people manifest well and others don’t [isn't] entirely accurate. Some people have become conscious of their power to manifest, and therefore they are mindful of how they direct their thoughts, feelings, and actions, and others may not yet be conscious of it.”

Being a conscious manifestor doesn’t mean that you never have a negative thought or a bad day, says Lee; however, it means that you consistently practice the ability to direct your thoughts towards the things you want and away from the things you don’t want.

“For example, if someone is being mean to you, it's typical to allow this person to take up a lot of real estate in your mind,” says Lee. “It can be triggering when someone is not nice, causing you to think about the person or the problem over and over again." Instead, Lee suggests that you may want to evaluate the situation and decide if it's worth your time, communicate with the person by sharing your true thoughts and feelings, and then shift your focus elsewhere. "For anything to remain in your reality, you must continue to think about it and have an emotional response to it," she adds.

So in order for you to manifest all the good stuff, stop focusing on what you don’t want and start focusing on what you do want.

3. You have to truly believe that your desired outcome will come true.

Manifestation also works when we truly believe that we can have what we desire and take aligned action towards our goals.

“We move towards what we want, and we draw it towards us or attract it based on our energy. Our mind is what controls our body to either move towards something or to remain in one place,” says Cameron. “If we do not believe we can achieve something, we think about the lack of possibility and feel the associated feeling; therefore, we are not going to move our bodies too quickly towards the goal."

Cameron says once you are operating on that frequency of vibration, you attract what you need to create massive success. “If we feel we are capable, have a burning desire, and feel inspired, then we move our bodies to do the activities that create the success we want in life,” she says.

4. Create a routine.

All experts stress the importance of having a consistent routine to help you manifest. By doing so, you’re able to tap into the subconscious mind and start believing that you can have all that you want in life.

“There are a limited number of ways we can consciously access the subconscious mind, and since the subconscious is where it all happens, this is an important first step,” says Steve Webster, co-author of The Law of Creation. One of the things you can include in your routine is meditation, as, according to Steve, it can create "the brainwave state that is necessary to remain in a high vibration (when you’re feeling joy, love, appreciation).”

Steve and Tracy recommend using guided meditations from the late Wayne Dyer, Tony Robbins, and Dr. Joe Dispenza or a meditation that guides you to feel peaceful, joyful, and grateful. And they suggest doing it at least once a day.

“The morning, when you first wake up, and at night before you go to bed are opportune times to practice meditation, as your brain waves are already in or heading into the correct state for the meditation to have maximum impact,” says Tracy Webster. However, if those times don't work for you, Tracy also says to find what works best for your schedule.

But if meditation isn't your thing, Lee also believes spending time with people who are positive and are consciously manifesting in their own lives is helpful when it comes to manifesting for your own life. “The energy of others can rub off on us," she says. She also suggests spending 20 minutes a day writing down the things you want to consciously manifest in your life in the present tense, as if they already exist in your life.

5. Make it simple, yet specific

Ultimately, once you align your vibration and feel confident that you’re able to take action towards your dreams, Cameron says the manifestation process is pretty simple. All you have to do is be specific as possible with what you want when you think of it.

“Be clear and specific on what it is you want, use your imagination to create a scene on the screen of your mind where you have it, and then apply the feeling of having. Then, repeat,” she says. “The key is to become the person you want to be now; then everything you want will show up in your physical world." According to Tracy, one of the ways you can do this is by creating a 15-minute movie in your mind of what you want your ideal life to look like. “Be very detailed! Who is in your movie? What are they wearing? What do you feel about being in this movie? What are you doing? Use your mind's eye to see and feel the scenario as if this is real and happening now," she explains.

However, keep in mind that if your energy is low—which is completely natural, especially now—it may affect how you choose to manifest your ideal life. "The law of vibration (primary to the Law of Attraction) decrees that you attract based on the frequency of your vibration. If you are in a low or negative vibration, you will attract the negative. While you are vibing high, you attract like energy and all you need to fulfill your dreams," says Cameron.

So the next time you want to manifest something into your life, remember to keep your frequencies high and make a game plan to attract it. It might take some time for you to receive—but the wait will be worth it.
