Yahoo Finance Line of Duty fans think they know who gets shot thanks to one big clue
The sixth season of Line of Duty really is putting us through our paces. We are theorising 24/7 about the identity of 'H', we're obsessing over the meaning of typos, and we're looking for hints nonstop. Well, fans have just spotted one very big clue which might tell us exactly who got shot after the huge cliffhanger in episode 5, and it's actually very convincing.
The most recent episode (S6 E5) ended with Kate Fleming and Ryan Pilkington in a standoff both pointing a gun at each other, before the screen goes black and we hear two gunshots. We have no idea who - if anyone - has been shot, how bad any injuries might be and in general what on earth is going to happen next. However, some eagle-eyed fans have spotted a clue which might tell us what happened after the screen went black at the end of the episode.
On the BBC website each episode comes with a description and a list of the cast and crew involved in that specific instalment. Fans have spotted that after episode five Vicky McClure's name is mysteriously absent from the list, suggesting that her character may have been killed in the shoot out at the end of the episode.
Clearly this theory is devastating, but it's also really very convincing. And if that couldn't get any worse the episode description reads, "As AC-12 struggle to deal with the repercussions of tragic events..."
Obviously, since the list isn't exhaustive we can't know for certain. For instance Jo Davidson is also missing from the episode 6 cast list. Which may undermine the theory, or it could be a hint that both Davidson and Fleming were killed in the stand off.
Meanwhile on Twitter fans also began theorising that Fleming may have been killed and also responding to it with all the hyperbole that we, the fans, expect to see about this show.
