Line of Duty fans have two big issues with series 6 episode 5

Line of Duty spoilers for the latest episode follow.

Line of Duty series 6 continued tonight (April 18) as things started to look up for AC-12, and then got a lot worse.

There was a surprise appearance from James Nesbitt (in photos, not in person) as there seemed to be links between Gail Vella's murder, institutional racism regarding a murder from 2003, and the sexual abuse in the Sands View boys' home, as it looks like a whole host of high-ranking officers could have ordered the hit.

Carmichael returned to take over AC-12 and immediately cut their surveillance, while Kate's plan to catch Ryan Pilkington out led to the OCG organising a trap to get her out of the picture, leading to a shocking stand-off cliffhanger.

All-in-all, classic gripping Line of Duty stuff, but viewers took issue with two things in this episode, both regarding the operation on the gun workshop.

Things went a bit south as armed police officers shot and killed two OCG members, one of whom was the man named Lewis that previously gave Jo a burner phone. But despite being shot dead, there was no blood or bullet holes.

An error, or another Jed Mercurio twist?

Viewers had another, slightly sillier, issue with the scene, specifically with the acronym 'GSW', and how it takes more syllables to actually say than its meaning, 'gunshot wound'.

To be fair, it is faster to type.

Line of Duty continues next Sunday (April 25) at 9pm on BBC Two. Series 1-6 are already available to pre-order as a boxset and will be released on May 17.
