Yahoo Finance Line of Duty's episode 5 will feature "tragic events" as AC-12 are left vulnerable
Line of Duty's episode 5 will feature AC-12 vulnerable to a "potentially dangerous situation" when Superintendent Ted Hasting's authority is undermined, according to BBC One's teaser description.
Episode 4 ended on a dramatic cliffhanger which saw the anti-corruption unit discovering that DCI Joanne Davidson (Kelly Macdonald) had the same DNA as someone else stored on the police database connected to the OCG.
The BBC also revealed that "tragic events" will unfold in episode 5, and while we have no idea what these could be (and we're hoping it doesn't indicate the death of a major character), latest images from episode five feature Martin Compston's DI Steve Arnott armed with a gun and clad in a bullet-proof jacket as he runs around what looks like a car-park.
We also see him drawing his weapon as he stands outside what appears to be a warehouse with back-up beside him.
The description for episode six reveals: "As AC-12 struggle to deal with the repercussions of tragic events, Hastings makes one final bid to uncover institutionalised corruption before his time runs out."
Meanwhile, BBC One recently confirmed that Anna Maxwell Martin would be reprising her role as DCS Carmichael from series five, where she was brought in as an independent investigator from AC-3 after suspicions mounted over the integrity of Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar).
The Motherland actress said in a statement: "Pat's back, I can't remember what she's doing there, nor would I be allowed to blab, but suffice to say she's got some new clobber and she’s ready to bust some balls."
Line of Duty continues on Sunday, April 18th, at 9pm on BBC One.
