Yahoo Finance Lions center Frank Ragnow played through Sunday's game with a fractured throat
Detroit Lions center Frank Ragnow should never have his toughness questioned again.
Despite reportedly fracturing his throat in the first quarter of Sunday’s game against Green Bay Packers, Ragnow finished the game, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Ragnow will probably miss some time as the season winds down. The Lions are currently speaking with specialists to determine how to handle Ragnow’s injury.
OK, some more details on Ragnow's fractured throat: Lions are consulting with specialists on this right now. His airway/breathing is fine, and he can eat, but he's not supposed to talk right now. Trying to determine how much time he'll need to be out.

Ragnow can breathe, and has been cleared to eat, but he’s not supposed to speak right now. If Ragnow is cleared to play in Week 15, that could be an issue, especially if Ragnow is responsible for making calls at the line of scrimmage.
Ragnow, however, played through most of Week 14 despite not being able to talk. Matthew Stafford and Chase Daniel knew that was the case shortly after Ragnow suffered the injury.
Chase Daniel said Ragnow suffered the injury on the first or second series, came up to him and Stafford about then saying he could not talk. "He didn't complain about it one bit. He just did his job. Pretty impressive."

After being selected by the Lions in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft, Ragnow has been a durable player. In three seasons with the team, he’s missed only one game.
Lions dealing with another key injury ahead of Week 15
On top of potentially losing Ragnow, the Lions may play Week 15’s game against the Tennessee Titans without Stafford. Ragnow and Stafford didn’t practice Wednesday, and the Lions are reportedly planning to play Sunday’s game without Stafford, who injured his ribs during the team’s game against the Packers.
While the Lions haven’t officially ruled Stafford out, the team indicated the move was likely, signing quarterback Jordan Ta'amu to the team’s practice squad Tuesday. If Stafford is unable to go, Daniel would start in Week 15. Ta’amu would serve as Daniel’s backup.
