Lisa Hochstein misses this former co-star on ‘The Real Housewives of Miami’: 'I wish she was on the show!'

Lisa Hochstein says she always knew that The Real Housewives of Miami would come back.

The veteran cast member, who appeared on the fan-favorite Bravo franchise’s second and third seasons, is one of the many OGs that returned with the show to Peacock last month after an eight-year hiatus. For the most recent episode of In The Know’s pop culture interview series We Should Talk, Hochstein opened up about the show’s comeback, everything that’s gone down in her life since Season 3 and everything fans want to know about this new season.

“I haven’t quite grasped the idea that we’re back. I’m still processing this whole thing! A lot of people didn’t think we would come back, and I always knew that we would be back,” Hochstein told In The Know. “ I just always felt that we would be back. Why wouldn’t they have a Miami Housewives? This is the best city — in my opinion — in the world! I also spoke to a psychic after we were, I guess you would say, canceled. Or, as Andy [Cohen] would say, ‘dead in the water.’ The psychic told me that we would be coming back.”

On thinking The Real Housewives of Miami would come back earlier: “Over the past eight years, we have been asked to come back, and we thought we were going to come back. Everything was set, and I really thought maybe five years ago we were coming back. And then nothing. Then, maybe two years later, they asked us if we would be interested in coming back — nothing. So when they asked us this last time, I did not believe it … It’s surreal to me! I just can’t believe it’s actually happening, and we’re back.”

On where she stands with former co-stars Lea Black and Joanna Krupa: “I am in contact with Lea. She’s still a dear friend. I wish she was on the show, actually! I do. I think that she would’ve brought a lot to the show. I love Lea. Joanna, I [laughs]. After the [Season 3] reunion, we have not spoken or seen each other at all. Zero. Nothing. But, honestly, so much time has passed. I really don’t have any ill feelings towards her at all. I wish her all the best. She has a beautiful baby girl, she’s married, she seems happy, and I’m happy for her … I’m not sure [why Lea didn’t come back] or what exactly happened there, but maybe next season. I love her big personality, and she’s very opinionated. She tells it as it is. Who knows, maybe you’ll see a cameo!”

On her friendship with Larsa Pippen: “I’ve known Larsa. She was more of an acquaintance for the past 10 to 14 years. I’ve seen her around. I’ve been here in Miami Beach for almost 15 years now. So, of course, we run in the same circles. I’ve always seen her out, but we’ve never had a relationship [other than] saying ‘hi’ and ‘bye.’ In the past four or five years, we’ve gotten closer — especially in the last year [during filming]. We quickly realized that we have a lot in common, we like to do the same things, [and] we have so many of the same friends.”

On her husband having an “emotional affair” during the show’s hiatus: “This happened so long ago — I don’t know, back in 2013 — and we were separated for all of, like, a month. The love between us is so strong, and sometimes it takes something like that, and a little separation and a little scare that you might not ever have that person again [or] that you won’t be able to continue your life with that person to make you understand that that is your person. Some people have to go through that in order to get to where they are now. I’m so happy we did because if we didn’t, I wouldn’t have all of this and my two beautiful children … People give up too easily, you know? Love and your family and having history with somebody is worth fighting for.”
