Lloyds Bank names Schaeffer as new North America CEO

(ADDS other promotions)

By Will Caiger-Smith

NEW YORK, Jan 12 (IFR) - Lloyds Bank has promoted Andy Schaeffer to be CEO for North America and moved up two senior bankers in its capital markets business.

Schaeffer, who joined the bank's New York financial markets team in 2014 and became head of markets for North America last year, replaces Mark Grant, who is returning to London.

Schaeffer will report to Grant, who will become chief executive designate of the company's non ring-fenced bank.

Wesley Fallan, previously head of US bond syndicate, will take over Schaeffer's DCM (KSE: 024090.KS - news) and loan syndication responsibilities as head of the bank's capital markets group for North America.

Kristan Gochee, previously head of ABS syndicate, will take over the sales and trading side of Schaeffer's previous role, as head of financial markets for the region.

Schaeffer said that he wanted to build on the bank's growing presence in US corporate bonds and structured finance to secure mandates for other services.

"We want to reinforce and add resources in global transaction banking and cash management opportunities in the US," he told IFR. (Reporting by Will Caiger-Smith; Editing by Marc Carnegie)
