Lloyd's of London shuts underwriting floor except on Wednesdays

LONDON (Reuters) - Lloyd's of London will keep its underwriting room open on Wednesdays only, the commercial insurance market said on Monday, after London was among English regions put under tighter Tier 4 COVID-19 restrictions at the weekend.

Lloyd's also kept the underwriting floor open on Wednesdays only during a national lockdown in November.

The floor was shut for nearly six months from March, but insurers preparing for the key Jan. 1 renewals season remain keen to carry out face-to-face dealing, industry sources say.
