McDonald's Confirms Plans For Dining In

When the UK was plunged back into a national Lockdown at the end of last year, all our favourite fast food places were forced to close their doors for dining in.

McDonald’s, KFC, Burger King, Nando’s and other fast food restaurants did remain open but, for the most part, only for delivery and drive-thrus (where available).

But now, McDonald's has confirmed that it will be welcoming customers back for dining in from 17 May, in accordance with government guidelines about restaurants, pubs and bars allowing customers to eat and drink inside once again.

Paul Pomroy, McDonald’s UK and Ireland CEO, said: “We are delighted to be re-opening our dine-in areas. Monday is another big step forward for both England and Wales, and we’ll be thrilled to see our customers dining-in and enjoying their meals with us – we know they have been eagerly waiting to get back. As the country starts to open back up more fully – so are we.

“We have not had people dining-in for several months, so while we know our restaurant teams are incredibly excited to welcome customers back to our dine-in areas, we also want to give them time to adjust to the enhanced safety measures and procedures in place that will help protect our customers and our people.”

McDonald’s opening times

As before, McDonald’s and other restaurants’ opening and closing times may change, so it's best to check on their official websites for any changes before you head out to treat yourself to a takeaway.
