Anthony Davis staying far away from Disney World after months inside the NBA bubble

Anthony Davis has had enough of Walt Disney World.

After spending months inside the NBA’s bubble near Orlando, Florida, the Los Angeles Lakers star told Jimmy Kimmel on Tuesday night that he plans on staying clear of “The Most Magical Place On Earth” for several years following their NBA Finals win against the Miami Heat.

It’s not just the theme park, either. Davis doesn’t even want to take on the Orlando Magic at the Amway Center.

“[I won’t go back] for at least two years,” Davis said. “We were even talking about boycotting playing the Orlando Magic for a while.”

After being stuck there since July, it’s hard to blame him for not wanting to go anywhere near central Florida for a while.

Guillermo makes impassioned plea to Anthony Davis

Davis averaged 25 points and 10.7 rebounds throughout the six games in the Finals, capping a wild first year with the organization.

The 27-year-old can now opt out of his contract and become a free agent, something he’s widely expected to do. He’s been non-committal about his plans since the season ended, but given how his first year alongside LeBron James went, it’d make a lot of sense if he returned next season.

"I had a great time in L.A. this first year," Davis said after beating the Heat, via ESPN. "This has been nothing but joy, nothing but amazement. Over the next couple of months, we'll figure it out. I mean, I'm not 100 percent sure, but that's why my agent [Rich Paul] is who he is, and we'll discuss it and figure it out."

Kimmel asked Davis about his impending free agency, and took all the Lakers gear that he was wearing in the interview as a good sign. He then turned it over to his co-host Guillermo, who he called the “deal closer,” to convince Davis to return.

“Listen we love you here in L.A.,” Guillermo said. “We love you as the Lakers. Sign another three or five more years!”

Only time will tell if Guillermo can get the job done.
