Louise Minchin recently opened up about starting swimming again — and how much she is enjoying it.

Taking to social media, the star shared a selfie of herself with a lake behind her on a sunny day — and penned an emotional message about swimming and how much it meant to her. "Tonight I went for a long swim in the sunshine and was thinking about what a great shame it was that I gave up swimming competitively when I was 15 because, I thought at the time it made me too muscly," she said. "Now age 54 and having spent a year talking to other women about sport, endurance and adventure and what it means to them, I feel proud not ashamed of my muscles not because of what they look like, but because of what I can do with them."

Continuing with her caption, Louise said: "I swam 3k tonight, I am doing a relay across Windermere on Sunday and I am so grateful I can. Thank you to all the women in #Fearless who have helped shift the narrative for me and I hope their stories can do the same for you."
