Yahoo Finance Louise Thompson talks anxiety after living out of a car and hostels post-fire
Over the weekend Louise Thompson shared the upsetting news that she and her family were involved in a serious house fire, and now she's updating fans on the anxiety she's experienced after living out of a car and in hostels following the blaze.
The fire broke out at Louise's mum's house, where the heavily pregnant reality TV star, her fiancé Ryan Libbey and their dogs had been living while their own home renovations are underway.
The "devastating" fire was caused in the middle of the night when a wine cooler exploded, and while Louise said she was in shock after the scary experience, she, her fiancé, mum, and their dogs were okay.
Now, Louise has opened up again to her followers about how she and her family are coping in the wake of the fire, explaining that she's experiencing anxiety due to their lack of stable home.
"We’ve moved in and out of 4 different hotel/hostels over the past week and basically lived out of a car and the truth is that it’s been really tough - one of the hardest things to deal with has been the total lack of security and privacy. I’m experiencing a bit of social anxiety atm and sometimes I just want to hide away and not have to come into contact with other humans. You can’t do that when you’re nomadic," Louise wrote on Instagram.
"The other thing (which was arguably even harder) was having to spend 5 days/nights without the dogs, who are basically my children. Sadly they aren’t welcome everywhere and they just take so much looking after which we couldn’t do from the car. I was so paranoid that they would be heavily traumatised by the incident because they got lost in the smoke before being rescued by Ryan but thankfully they seem to be ok and they have been impeccably looked after by [family and friends]."
Louise told fans that her mum's house will take a long time to restore and they're "keeping fingers and toes crossed" for their own renovation project.
"Thankfully we have found a temporary solution which means that me, Ryan, bump, Koji and Toto can camp out under one roof 🙏🏼 hopefully until the baby is born if needs be," Louise added.
In the post, the reality star spoke about being "totally overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity" of people who've offered to help in the aftermath of the accident.
"I have had messages from people that I’ve met ONCE offer up their best friends, cousins, dogs, ex girlfriends, dads house in order to try to help," she said.
"It means a lot - I feel incredibly lucky and I wish everyone could be this lucky."
