Products made by Love Hemp are appearing on the shelves of Tesco as CBD oils, gummies and chocolates continue to go mainstream.

CBD, which is derived from cannabis plants, can help ease pain and calm anxiety, and is also used to combat insomnia. It stands for cannabidiol -- the non-psychoative compound in cannabis.

London-listed Love Hemp is backed by Anthony Joshua, the two-time world heavyweight boxing champion. Tesco will stock six of its products, including sprays and chocolate balls,  in over 200 supermarkets and the Tesco Extra convenience stores which are a common sight in central London.

“It has always been our mission to make CBD accessible and available to as many consumers as possible, and having our products stocked in the vitamin aisles of Tesco brings great visibility to our products and brand,” said Tony Calamita, Love Hemp’s chief executive.

The company was previously called World High Life and now concentrates on appealing to health-conscious consumers.
