Love Island star Theo Campbell has surprised fans by announcing he's now become a father.

The series three contestant shared the news to Instagram on Monday as he posted a picture of him holding his newborn son Aries in a carrier as they left hospital.

In he caption he noted only “a few friends and family” knew he was preparing to become a dad.

"Dam, my replacement is here 👶🏽 - 21 hours later and he’s here 🎉 I can’t believe the joy I had looking into the eyes of my baby boy ❤️. I only told a few friends and family so for most people will be massive surprise seeing this 😄.

"Over the past 4 years having a private life isn’t really a thing so being able to keep this private has been so nice. Massive well done to his mum as-well, the process of having a baby is crazy I literally didn’t have a clue how strong a woman has to be to go through this! Aries Campbell 07/02/2021 ❤️ #minime #daddy," he wrote.

He isn't the only star of the ITV2 show to make a sudden baby announcement either as last year saw season four winner Jack Fincham reveal he had fathered a daughter with a "great friend".

Fincham said he had kept it quiet so that the mother, who was later revealed to be Casey Ranger, could have a peaceful pregnancy.

Also sharing in baby joy recently is Dani Dyer - who won Love Island with Fincham - as she and partner Sammy Kimmence welcomed a son named Santiago into the world last month.
