Love Island's Maura Higgins admits hospital dash after accident
Former Love Island star Maura Higgins has gone to hospital following an accident.
The television personality took to her Instagram Stories on Monday (December 6), sharing a picture of her fuzzy Louis Vuitton slippers with the caption: "Ended up in A&E after slicing my finger to the bone."
She also added: "Happy F**king Monday."
Earlier this year, the islander opened up on experiencing street harassment after her hosting stint at the National Television Awards.
In the early hours, Higgins was going to her car after leaving a venue following the awards show. As she was walking, a bystander reached out to grab her arm, which she then flung away out of his reach. She slammed the man's behaviour as "actively predatory".
The reality TV star then spoke out about the incident, which was captured by photographers, on her Instagram Stories.
"For people that think this does not happen... I can assure you it does!" Higgins wrote.
She then added: "This guy that I have never met in my life grabbed hold of my arm and tried to pull me back towards his car. Luckily I had two girls walk with me to my car and I would never leave a venue alone at night because of this reason."
"It is actively predatory, repeatedly violating women's personal space and boundaries. His behaviour is completely inappropriate and it's crucial that we address the issue of street harassment," she finally said.
Love Island airs on ITV2 and is available via catch up on ITV Hub and BritBox.
