Man City XI vs Wolves: Starting lineup and latest team news - Gundogan, Stones, Aguero on bench

Manchester City can this evening extend their already formidable 12-point lead at the Premier League summit with yet another victory against Wolves.

Pep Guardiola’s side are in irresistible, record-breaking form, with goals from centre-backs Ruben Dias and John Stones securing a 2-1 win over West Ham on Saturday - an incredible 20th consecutive triumph across all competitions.

City’s supreme strength in depth has helped the Spaniard to make plenty of changes game to game during this historic sequence and, as many Fantasy Premier League managers can attest, trying to second-guess Guardiola’s selections is, now more than ever, a fool’s errand.

However, Joao Cancelo returns as expected, with the versatile Portuguese international having been rested for the win over West Ham.

That means Oleksandr Zinchenko gets a breather, while John Stones also gets a rest as Aymeric Laporte comes in.

Pep has options in abundance further forward, with the likes of Rodri and Bernardo Silva starting. Fernandinho and Ilkay Gundogan are relegated to the bench, while Kevin De Bruyne starts.

Gabriel Jesus returns to the XI up front after Sergio Aguero made only his fourth start of the season at the weekend. Jesus is flanked by Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez.

Confirming his side have picked up no new injuries, Guardiola said at his pre-match press conference on Monday: “Everything is fine. Apart from Nathan (Ake), everyone is fine.”

Man City lineup: Ederson, Walker, Dias, Laporte, Joao Cancelo, De Bruyne, Rodri, Bernardo Silva, Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus, Sterling

Subs: Stones, Gundogan, Aguero, Zinchenko, Steffen, Torres, Fernandinho, Foden, Garcia

Wolves lineup: Rui Patricio, Dendoncker, Coady, Saiss, Hoever, Neves, Joao Moutinho, Jonny, Nelson Semedo, Pedro Neto, Traore

Subs: Ait Nouri, Willian Jose, Boly, Silva, Gibbs-White, Vitinha, Ruddy, Kilman, Otasowie

Injury list: Nathan Ake.
