Marvel series MODOK was banned from featuring two particular characters from the comics.

Showrunner Jordan Blum shared this insight whilst speaking to ComicBook recently, with his new animated comedy project only days away from premiering on Disney+ and Hulu.

"Marvel was so cool about like, 'Yeah you want Iron Man? Yeah, take Iron Man,'" he explained. "And I was like, 'Oh my God I can't believe Iron Man!' Like the only characters they said no to were like Stilt-Man, and Paste-Pot Pete we tried to have in that episode."

Apparently, Blum originally envisioned using Stilt-Man as a bartender in a hilarious sequence based at the infamous Bar With No Name.

Further along, the series boss also went on to reveal that the writing team had to "check" themselves as they dipped inside Marvel's rich catalogue of characters.

"We had to check ourselves a little bit, that we didn't just put everything in and then nothing happened in the show. Because we were just like, 'Oh here's a new character, here's a new character!' They had to kind of be organic to the story. And that was, you know, the most important thing.

"That's why there are some weird ones in there like the because we were, we needed something for that episode," Blum added.

Marvel's MODOK will air on Disney+ in the UK and Hulu in the US starting May 21.
