Yahoo Finance Marvel's What If...? trailer teases Marvel Zombies and team-ups
Disney's latest preview of the animated Marvel's What If...? has teased an undead Captain America and some unexpected team-ups.
The forthcoming series is set in corners of the Marvel Multiverse where alternate versions of familiar MCU heroes exist with very different backstories.
"You know the stories, but what if one thing changes everything?" the latest teaser asks.
The trailer offers a glimpse of several of the one-off episodes, including a disturbing look at Captain America falling prey to a flesh-eating virus in an instalment based on the Marvel Zombies comics.
This virus turns heroes and villains alike into depraved undead hordes, craving flesh and willing to kill anyone or anything in the way of their hunger.
Other episodes will feature unusual team-ups of MCU characters, including the late Chadwick Boseman in his final performance as T'Challa joining up with Yondu (Michael Rooker) and the Ravagers.
Disney has previously revealed that Black Panther villain Killmonger (Michael B Jordan) has a heroic arc in Marvel's What If...? when he comes to Tony Stark's rescue during the events of 2008's Iron Man.
Tony isn't the only new ally Killmonger makes, as he also is shown in the new footage joining up with mortal enemy T-Challa's younger sister Shuri.
"It appears we have a common enemy," Shuri admits, with Killmonger boasting: "I guess I'll have to freestyle then!"
Other episodes will feature Agent Peggy Carter of SHIELD becoming Captain Carter by taking the supersoldier serum to battle HYDRA and the return of Andy Serkis as Black Panther villain Ulysses Klaue.
Marvel's What If...?, which features The Batman's Jeffrey Wright as the Multiverse's guide the Watcher, will arrive on Disney+ on August 11.
