We are already several weeks into the second season of ITV’s The Masked Singer, with speculation rife as to the contestants’ identities.
While some of the mystery stars have already been identified – including Glen Hoddle (Grandfather Clock) and Mel B (Seahorse) – many others are still unknown.
The public and bookies have already seemingly figured out the likely identities of some of the contestants, such as Blob, but the same can’t be said for Badger.
Badger has performed twice on the show, once singing Nina Simone’s "Feeling Good and then taking on Aerosmith's “I Don't Want to Miss a Thing”. He is set to perform again this week (23 January).
With four weeks gone, it’s still unclear exactly who inhabits the giant black-and-white suit, with the bookies’ favourite currently Strictly Come Dancing’s Kevin Clifton.
Last Saturday’s episode provided clues in the form of “two truths and a lie”. Badger’s responses were, “I’m good at dodging furniture,” “When working, I’m often found in green,” and, “Strictly speaking, dancing is something I’m known for” – the last of which many fans have interpreted as a reference to the BBC’s flagship dance series.
“Omg Strictly and in a rock band, Kevin Clifton is Badger!!!!!!!!” wrote one fan on Twitter.
“I think Badger is Kevin Clifton. He left Strictly to star in School of Rock,” wrote another.
An alternative suggestion is motorcyclist Carl Fogarty. Viewers have associated Fogarty with Badger’s leather jacket and the clue of a corked hat, which could be a nod to the driver’s time on I’m a Celebrity.

“Badger is 100% Carl Fogarty,” wrote one viewer. “I don’t think we’ve ever been so sure.”
“Badger = Carl Fogarty. Absolutely no doubt,” wrote someone else.
Will Young, Professor Brian Cox and Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay have also been floated as potential contestants.
Kay seemed to be suggested in 30 January’s episode after the word “milliner” was seen in their VT. Considering a milliner is someone who makes hats, judge Rita Ora wondered if this could be a reference to Jamiroquai’s famous headwear.
The current bookies’ odds on the identity of Badger are as follows: Kevin Clifton at 5/4, Will Green at 3/1, Guy Martin at 5/1, and Jahmene Douglas at 6/1.
