Lucas has previously told how he lost his hair as a child after he was knocked down by a car during a family holiday in Portugal.

His fans and friends inundated his social media accounts with compliments after he showed off his new look.

Former Bake Off contestant Rahul Mandal said he looked “very handsome”, while TV star Stacey Dooley posted a hearts in eyes emoji on Instagram.

Congratulations Matt,” wrote actor Pearl Mackie. “Very pleased for you and your upper lip in this cold weather.”

Lucas opened up to the Guardian about his hair loss in 2017.

He said his hair started falling out when he was six, two years after he was hit by a car.

Doctors decided it was a delayed response to the shock of being knocked over.

From that point, he said his baldness “was a source of amusement, sympathy and revulsion for everyone”.

“Suddenly everything and anything else that I was at that age was eclipsed by the fact that I was the little boy in the town with absolutely no hair,” he said.

“And that is how it was, from the age of six for the remainder of my youth. Right up until I became famous, my lack of hair was considered the most – perhaps even the only – notable thing about me.”
