McDonald’s customers dumbfounded by video of ‘amazing’ new feature at the chain’s Chinese locations: ‘We need this’

McDonald’s exercise bikes are a real thing, and TikTokers can barely believe their eyes.

It all started with a mega-viral video shared by a user named @cris13yu. In their clip, the TikToker shows a McDonald’s customer riding a stationary bike while eating a burger in China.

As it turns out, the bikes are part of a new test feature at two of the chain’s locations in China. According to FOX Television Stations, the first bikes debuted in September 2021.

FOX reports that the devices are called “Green Charging Bikes.” The cycles, which can electronically charge customers’ phones as they eat, are made of recycled plastics — part of a larger upcycling program throughout China.

Overall, TikTok users were jealous to learn that the feature is currently only available in China.

This phenomenon is nothing new on TikTok, where international fast food-based videos often turn into large-spanning conversations. In the past, users have shared what makes McDonald’s breakfast so great in Japan, why Taco Bell is “fancy” in China and how you can see the Great Pyramids of Giza from a Pizza Hut in Egypt.

As far as the McDonald’s exercise bikes went, many users called them “amazing.”

“I wish they had this in Singapore,” one user wrote.

“We need this,” another added.

“This concept is amazing,” another wrote.
