Mercer International: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) _ Mercer International Inc. (MERC) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $45 million.

The Vancouver, British Columbia-based company said it had profit of 68 cents per share.

The pulp company posted revenue of $412.2 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $128.6 million, or $1.96 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.46 billion.

Mercer International shares have increased 43 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $14.97, an increase of 13 percent in the last 12 months.
