A game-worn jersey of Michael Jordan’s from his days at North Carolina was just sold at an auction for a record price.
Jordan's Tar Heels jersey from the 1982-83 season sold for $1.38 million through Heritage Auctions, according to USA Today. That makes it the highest price someone has paid for a Jordan jersey.

"As the final price tag proves, this jersey has everything any serious collector could possibly want,” Heritage Auctions director Chris Ivy said, via USA Today.
“It’s got scarcity, it’s one of a kind, it’s photo-matched. It’s a great investment. That’s another angle. … It’s something that you’re investing in. I think this is as solid as it gets.”
That jersey, per the report, is the only known one of its kind that is photo-matched to his Sporting News magazine “Player of the Year” cover photo from that season.
The jersey reportedly sold first at an auction for more than $63,000 in 1999. The previous record for a Jordan jersey, according to USA Today, was set last year when a Chicago Bulls jersey from the 1986-87 season sold for $480,000.
Jordan spent three seasons playing at North Carolina, and won a national title there during the 1981-82 season. He averaged 17.7 points and five rebounds in his career with the Tar Heels.
