Michael Sheen is no stranger to transforming for a role, but wasn't expecting a recent hair change to be a little more permanent than he was originally anticipating.

The Good Omens actor is returning as a team captain to film trivia panel show There's Something About Movies, where he teams up with host Alan Carr, Jennifer Saunders and Tom Allen to recreate famous movie scenes among other games.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Tom Allen shared some behind-the-scenes gossip about working with Michael.

"He and Jennifer recreated the Joker movie and bless him, they did the filming the day before. Michael being very method, said to Jennifer, 'We shouldn't wear wigs, we should just dye our hair, it will be better'.

"They both dyed their hair green, and then Jennifer's washed out straight away, and Michael's didn't.

"He turned up looking like Grotbags. Don't tell him I said that. It made me laugh, and he did laugh about it.

"He's just so cool, when you look at some of the stuff he's done and the people he knows, and we're all having a laugh at his green hair, it's great. He's just such a nice guy, I guess that's why he's carried on working."

Tom continued: "It's a lovely job and I have to pinch myself that I get to sit there with all of them. They are such fun and we have a such a lovely time together. It's like a party, the whole thing.

"We've had amazing guests too, we had Joanna Lumley. So it was me sitting between Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley and Alan Carr which is probably the gayest thing I've ever done… and I've dated men."

There's Something About Movies returns on Wednesday, October 21 on Sky One and NOW TV.
