Midday Movers: Biogen, Apple, DocuSign and More

Investing.com -- U.S. stocks rose after the Bank of England stepped in to stabilize the British pound. Here are the midday movers for Sept. 28:
Biogen Inc (NASDAQ:BIIB) shares jumped 37% after its drug making partner Eisai Co (OTC:ESALY)., Ltd. (TYO:4523) reported a successful late-stage trial of their Alzheimer's drug, saying it reduced cognitive decline by 27% in patients. Eisai's shares jumped 62%. Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY), which is also working on a treatment, rose 8%. Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) shares fell 2.3% after a report it decided not to increase the production of its newest iPhone but hold to earlier production levels. DocuSign Inc (NASDAQ:DOCU)shares rose 4.7% after the electronic signature company said it was cutting 9% of its workers, eyeing a $40 million charge for restructuring. VF Corporation (NYSE:VFC) shares fell 3% after it cut guidance, citing lower sales of its Vans casual shoes and North Face apparel. Thor Industries Inc (NYSE:THO) shares rose 3.7% after the RV maker beat fourth quarter expectations. It did see demand could be an issue going forward after a pandemic craze for buying RVs.
