Mike Tindall has shared the hilarious, and no doubt, relatable, results of home schooling his young daughter which saw him undergo a very colourful makeover.

The former rugby star, married to Zara, the Queen's granddaughter, posted a picture of his face covered in face paint on Instagram, and declared his day of teaching daughter Mia, seven, a success.

"Feel like I succeeded in home schooling arts and crafts today!!!! Any movies out there need a creepy villain I think I fit the bill!!" Tindall joked in the caption.

Mike and Zara have two daughters together, Mia, and two-year-old Lena, and are currently expecting their third child.

Mike shared the happy news in December on his podcast, The Good, The Bad & the Rugby, telling listeners: "Been a very good week. It's been a good week for me. Had a little scan last week. Third Tindall on its way."

Meanwhile, like many parents across the country during a third national lockdown, the couple are enduring the challenges of teaching children at home while also balancing work responsibilities.

He recently opened up about the struggles of home schooling in an interview, telling the Daily Telegraph: "I don’t think any child is a great home schooler because they definitely listen to other people better than they listen to their parents.

"[Mia] can be brilliant one minute and then something you’ve seen her do a thousand times she’ll just go ‘I don’t know how to do that’ and then you go ‘well I know you do’, and she’ll just say ‘no I don’t’ and then you get frustrated, and you’re trying not to get frustrated."

He added: "She enjoyed it the first week because it was different being around Mum and Dad all the time... But then, ultimately, it’s the same people who are telling her off or telling her what to do and I think then she gets bored of that."
