Morocco's Jan-Aug trade deficit falls 3.1 pct
RABAT (Reuters) - Morocco's January-to-August trade deficit narrowed by 3.1 percent from a year earlier to 131.73 billion dirhams, the foreign exchange regulator said on Monday, following a drop in imports because of the economic slowdown. The country's imports decreased by 2.4 percent while exports fell only at 1.5 percent. Energy products imports dropped 4.3 pct, tourism receipts rose 2.1 percent, and remittances from the 4.5 million Moroccans living abroad increased slightly, by 1 percent.
