With that in mind - and to decide whether you’ll be signing up for a subscription - here are the most exciting Disney+ Originals we can’t wait to watch when the service launches on March 24…

The Mandalorian

Baby Yoda - or "The Child" - is the breakout star of Disney+'s 'The Mandalorian'

Two words: Baby Yoda. Ok, so that’s not the cute little character’s ACTUAL name (it’s The Child) but we’ll discover that, along with a whole lot more Star Wars lore, when UK audiences FINALLY get to watch the highly-anticipated Star Wars spinoff.

The eight-episode space western, created by Jon Favreau, is the first ever live-action Star Wars TV series, and is set five year after the events of Return of the Jedi. No other series in the galaxy has been quite so hyped, and Disney+ is the only way to watch it.

The World According To Jeff Goldblum

Frankly, it’s criminal that Jeff Goldblum has never been given his own travelogue series before. Disney has righted that injustice by giving the endlessly watchable enigma his own docuseries, where he explores the world with a curiosity only Jeff Goldblum could impart.

In it, he investigates subjects including denim, ice cream and tattoos. But we’d watch him investigate anything. Imagine his Thor: Ragnarok character, Grandmaster, landing on Earth and being given a tour around a supermarket, and that’s basically, literally, exactly it. “And then every once in a while, I break into song,” promises Goldblum in the show’s trailer. Sold.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series

Whatever you expected from a High School Musical TV spinoff, this probably isn’t it. And that’s a good thing. This is a musical mockumentary: filmed in a shakey-cam, The Office style, the scripted teen comedy is set in the High School where the original Zac Effron and Vanessa Hudgens-starring High School Musical was set: and it follows a cast of high schoolers putting on a musical production of the musical, High School Musical. With us? No?

All you need to know is this is a smart, self-aware comedy set to the catchy High School Musical showtune soundtrack. If Glee-meets-Parks and Rec sounds like your thing, you’ll love this.

If you saw 2019’s Toy Story 4, then chances are Forky is your favourite piece of cutlery already. Arrested Development’s Tony Hale returns as the voice of the titular spork-and-pipe-cleaner creation for this series of ten Pixar shorts, in which he attempts to answer life’s big questions, such as “What is art?”, “What is time?”, and, most importantly, “What is cheese?”.

Lady and the Tramp

The Lion King, Aladdin and Dumbo aren’t the only classic Disney animations which have been remade in the last year: Disney+ is home to the original live-action remake of Lady and the Tramp, with Tessa Thompson and Justin Theroux lending their voices to said Lady and said Tramp, and Janelle Monáe performing two new songs for the film.

Unlike last year’s photo-realistic CGI animals of The Lion King, though, this musical stars a cast of real rescue dogs - who were also all adopted after filming. And yes, there’s a live-action spaghetti scene.

As cooking shows go, this one is ripe to be binged. Families compete in this original cooking series to create dishes inspired by Disney movies - and what could be better than a Mickey Masterchef? Try the grey stuff, it’s delicious!

The Imagineering Story

'The Imagineering Story' will take audiences behind the scenes of Disney's theme parks.

In case you’re wondering, an ‘Imagineer’ is the name given to those who create the rides and experiences at Disney parks - the people who design, develop, experiment with and test the attractions that make each theme park the most magical place on earth.

From Leslie Iwerks, the Emmy-nominated director of The Pixar Story, this (inevitably slightly biassed) documentary series about the inner workings of Disney’s theme parks, their history and the people behind them, promises a fascinating, unrivalled behind-the-scenes look at Disneyland and its parks around the world. It’s not such a small world, after all.

Pixar In Real Life

Think Impractical Jokers, but for even the youngest members of your family. This hidden camera-style show sees your favourite Pixar characters, from the likes of The Incredibles, Finding Dory and Up, enter the real world and unleashed upon the unsuspecting general public in what have got to be the most sweet-natured pranks ever broadcast.

Stargirl

Teen country music viral sensation, America’s Got Talent winner, and all-round ukulele supremo Grace VanderWaal stars as Stargirl in this Disney+ original movie, which sees her as a sort of self-expressive, free-spirited, manic-pixie-star-girl who captures the imagination of a fellow high school student, an introverted teen boy. Come for the dreamy cinematography, stay for the first-love story which is sure to launch a thousand fanfictions.

Lamp Life

No, this isn’t about Luxo Jr., the bouncy, animated Pixar lamp. This new Disney Pixar short is a Toy Story prequel, revealing Bo Peep’s adventures before the events of the trilogy, when she and her sheep were all part of the same little baby lamp. Hopefully, it means we’ll get origin stories for all our favourite Toy Story characters in the future, too.

Disney+ is set to debut in the UK on 24 March.
