MOVES-StanChart names 3 regional vice-chairs for CIB

LONDON, Sept 6 (IFR) - Standard Chartered (BSE: 580001.BO - news) has appointed three regional vice-chairs for its corporate and institutional banking business, tasked with developing its key client relationships.
Yang Chang-Po has been appointed CIB vice-chair for greater China and North Asia. Sean Verity has the same role for the Americas and Jonathan Bewes has been appointed vice-chair for CIB in Europe. They will be based in Hong Kong, New York and London, respectively.
Standard Chartered said on Wednesday they will focus on building the bank’s client relationship strategy across industries and global clients and will also seek to strengthen existing relationships.
Yang was most recently at Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS-PB - news) , which he joined as managing director in 2006 and was named partner in 2010 and was a member of the China IBD executive committee. He has also worked at the World Bank and China International Capital Corporation.
Verity (Other OTC: VRTY - news) was most recently a management partner in a UK firm of chartered accountants and an executive vice president at BNY Mellon, and previously worked at Barclays (LSE: BARC.L - news) and Chase Manhattan Bank.
Bewes has worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, UBS (LSE: 0QNR.L - news) and Flemings. (Reporting by Steve Slater)
