His video recreating the popular Netflix series "Squid Game," where contestants competed for a $456,000 prize, has garnered over 424 million views. The money earned from these videos is reinvested into further charitable causes.
Despite his extensive efforts, MrBeast has faced criticism for using his substantial wealth, amassed through YouTube, to address social inequalities. Responding to backlash, he recently took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to address these concerns. "When we help people (such as funding cataract surgery for 1,000 people, building 100 houses, 100 wells, etc.), people get mad and say I shouldn't be doing this and governments should," he posted. "Yes, ideally a YouTuber isn't the one fixing these issues, but I'm not just gonna stand by and do nothing."
MrBeast’s commitment to philanthropy has sparked debates about the ethics of influencers creating content around their charitable deeds.
