Yahoo Finance Myleene Klass shares heartbreak of suffering miscarriage while presenting live radio show
Myleene Klass has opened up on the trauma of going through a miscarriage while she was on air presenting a radio show.
The singer and presenter has been through the heartbreak of four miscarriages, but said that during one loss she had had to make it through the rest of a live broadcast.
Speaking to The Mail on Sunday’s You magazine about it for the first time, she said: “I was on air. I went to the loo while the music was playing and there was blood everywhere. I didn’t know what to do. I had one hour left of my show.”
Klass turned to friend and fellow radio presenter Lauren Laverne for the final hour of her show.
She said: “I rang Lauren Laverne and she said: ‘Do one link, take a breath, come out and call me.’ She got me through. I did the next link and called her. We counted the links.
“I would go out, sob and come back in, take a deep breath and speak. I don’t know what else I would have done. I was on air.”
It was Klass’s third miscarriage - she called her first loss “howling at the moon territory” and had then gone through a missed miscarriage.
She shared that she had suffered a fourth loss, too, saying of her experiences “the pain is just so guttural, it’s unbearable”.
Former Hear’Say singer Klass has two daughters aged 13 and nine from a previous marriage, and a baby son with partner Simon Motson.
She also said in the interview that despite her family including Motson and his two children now too, she would “always think of myself as a single mum”.
Klass, who is taking part in the current series of Dancing On Ice, explained that she was used to being solely responsible for her older two children and felt that they had to be able to rely upon her.
