MyndVR is working to improve the quality of life for older adults by virtually transporting them out of their homes and into any setting they could ever want.

The MyndVR setup, which can be purchased for $595 or rented for a lesser cost, includes a tablet and a pair of MyndVR goggles, as well a 1-year subscription to MyndVR content.

The company’s virtual reality experience can help connect people who are confined to their beds or homes with the world outside their walls. Whether the user wants to go to a concert or a Broadway show, the goggles promise to transport users there and provide a truly immersive experience.

The company now operates in select senior living communities across North America, “lifting spirits, improving quality of life, reliving cherished memories and creating new ones.”

The customer testimonials seem to hint that the company has succeeded in its mission.

“I have never seen so many seniors as joyful as they have been since experiencing this VR tour,” wrote Rona Barrett from California. “It’s incredible! We love building our seniors a new future.”

“In one case, a resident living with Alzheimer’s exhibited personality traits she had prior to the diagnosis, including dancing, smiling and singing,” shared Brian Barnes, the former COO/CFO of The Legacy Senior Communities in Dallas, Texas. “Another resident felt relief from symptoms of Parkinson’s. The overall response has impressed everyone involved.”

With the power of Verizon’s ultra-fast 5G wideband — which is 25 times faster than today’s 4G networks in the U.S. — MyndVR’s immersive experience only stands to improve as the technology continues to develop.
