Naama Bay Hotel Offers Authentic Japanese Dining Experience at Kona Kai Restaurant

Locals Can Enjoy Sushi, Sashimi and Teppanyaki at Sharm El Sheikh Marriott Resort Restaurant

SHARM EL SHEIKH, EGYPT--(Marketwired - Nov 21, 2014) - Egypt has plenty of delicious food of its own, from koshari to ful, but sometimes locals get a craving for something different. At this 5-star hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, diners can enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine, including sushi, sashimi and teppanyaki, at the award-winning Kona Kai.

The only teppanyaki restaurant in Sharm El Sheikh with an authentic Japanese menu, Kona Kai highlights the skills of its talented chefs with live-cooking stations, where the sound of sizzling flames and fast-moving blades adds drama and excitement to eating out.

The Sharm El Sheikh luxury hotel restaurant features popular all-you-can-eat, fixed-price sushi menus on Tuesdays and Fridays. For 248 LE, enjoy miso soup, 10 pieces of maki mono, nine pieces of nigiri sushi and a choice of fried ice cream, fried banana with ice cream or fruit salad with ice cream for dessert. A second menu, available for 310 LE, offers slightly different sushi options with six pieces of maki mono, eight pieces of sashimi and five pieces of nigiri sushi. Fixed-price teppanyaki set menus are also available, ranging from LE 261 to LE 373. The former includes miso soup, a vegetable salad, choice of chicken breast or beef filet and fried banana with ice cream for dessert. The higher-priced menu offers Ebi Shiromi Sumashi soup, Crab Stick salad, mixed tempura, a choice of salmon, jumbo shrimp or sea bass filet and Tempura ice cream for dessert. A sushi bar set menu, for LE 311, combines 11 pieces of sushi with a heartier entrée and fried ice cream for dessert.

Diners who prefer to make their own choices can select from a large menu. Start with a seaweed salad or Japanese chicken dumpling, known as gyoza. Main courses range from whole lobster tail, beef teriyaki and udon or soba noodles to sushi rolls, nigiri sushi and sashimi. A small but carefully selected beverage menu includes sake, local and international beers and wines by the glass.
