Naomi Campbell is a first-time mother

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has become a mother for the first time.

The 50-year-old announced on social media on Tuesday that she has become a mother to a baby girl by sharing a close-up photo of the newborn's small feet resting in the palm of her hand.

In the accompanying caption, she wrote, "A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother, So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love."

The British catwalk legend did not reveal the girl's name or share details about the circumstances surrounding her newfound motherhood.

Many celebrities took to the comments underneath Naomi's Instagram post to congratulate her on her "little blessing".

Designer Marc Jacobs wrote, "Oh my God!!!!! Today is the day?? How absolutely incredible. How lucky she is and how lucky you are! What a wonderful Mother you will be. Blessings all around."

"Oh my goodness congrats lady! What a blessing!!!" Zoe Saldana commented, while Rita Ora posted, "No one deserves this more," with many heart emojis, and actress Jodie Turner-Smith wrote, "Many many many congratulations to you and to your family— the village that will now rally around you and support you in cultivating that little angel!!!! what an incredible blessing!!!"

Naomi has previously spoken of her desire to have a baby and told designer Diane von Furstenberg in a 2014 radio interview that she was prepared to do it alone.

"I do want to have children, whether I have a man or not. I will have it on my own," she said on SiriusXM Radio.
