NBA bettor wins astronomical wager after Raptors trounce Bucks

An MGM Grand bettor with whom I assume has some mightily deep pockets was all-in on the Raptors Thursday night, dropping a cool $110,000 wager on Toronto to cover +7.5 versus the Milwaukee Bucks.

This brave soul — one who may just truly love pain — had an awful lot of confidence in these awfully inconsistent (but starting-to-come-around) Raptors as they faced the powerhouse Bucks, especially with Toronto missing perennial All-Star point guard Kyle Lowry and Milwaukee looking to avenge a loss to Toronto two days ago.

This bettor must have been playing a strong hunch to drop that kind of coin on a seemingly random regular season game in February, as Toronto has been anything but lights out against the spread lately. The Raptors came into Thursday's contest just 6-4 against the spread in their last 10 — slightly better than the Bucks' 5-5 mark ATS over the same span, though.

Toronto was coming off a fairly convincing 11-point win over the Bucks on Tuesday after debuting its new small-ball starting five (of which Lowry is a massive part), so perhaps that momentum sparked this gambler's taste buds in Toronto on this night. Whatever it was, bless this person's soul because they cashed out big, and it wasn't even close.

The Raptors won by 14 points, 110-96, in a game that was never even really close. Just a sweat-free $100K straight to the belly of your wallet. A+ Thursday.

That moneyline would have been tasty, though.
