NCIS: Los Angeles has offered a first look at a very welcome return for an original character, as the much-loved Henrietta Lange makes a comeback.
Operations Manager Henrietta, known as Hetty, has been absent for most of the show's 12th season but she is due to make a triumphant return to the Office of Special Projects in the upcoming season finale.
TVLine has unveiled photos of actress Linda Hunt back on set as Hetty, with the images showing the long-standing character reuniting with interim Operations Manager Nell Jones (Renée Felice Smith) and even sharing a hug with her.

Hetty has been away from the rest of her team for a while on a mysterious mission and has only made fleeting appearances via video call, while actress Hunt was unable to be on set in person.
Hetty's return won't be drama-free, of course, with the finale episode set to see Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) being kidnapped by an associate of Anatoli Kirkin, while the team will also investigate the shooting of a dolphin which was equipped with a Russian microchip.
NCIS: Los Angeles showrunner Scott Gemmill told TVLine that it was "so great" to film a return for both Hetty and Linda.
"It was just so great having Linda back on set, especially for her scenes with Renée," he said. "Hetty is such an important and almost mythical character to NCIS: Los Angeles, and fans are going to love seeing them together again."
It was confirmed last month that CBS has given the go-ahead for a 13th season of NCIS: Los Angeles, although it remains to be seen which cast members will definitely return for the new season.
The original NCIS will also be back for its 19th season on our screens, while a brand new spin-off called NCIS: Hawaii is also on the way. This series will be focused on a female special agent, marking a new first for the NCIS franchise.
NCIS: Los Angeles airs on CBS in the US, with the season 12 finale airing on Sunday, May 23. The show airs on Sky One in the UK.
