Neighbours' Amy in trouble with Toadie over polyamory

Neighbours spoilers follow.

Amy Greenwood is set to clash with Toadie Rebecchi over her polyamorous relationship in Neighbours.

Amy recently came together with Ned Willis and Levi Canning to try a new kind of arrangement for the trio when the two guys were being competitive over their feelings for her.

In scenes airing next week at UK pace, Toadie is thrown off when Nell Rebecchi asks some very personal questions after seeing Amy being affectionate with both of her partners on the street.

Toadie gets angry when he sees Nell drawing a picture of the trio, so he demands Amy stop discussing her polyamorous relationship with Nell in the future.

With Toadie seemingly at the end of his ropes, Amy turns to Levi for support and he offers her some valuable advice on how to deal with the situation.

Toadie returns home later on to find Amy ready for him with a few cocktails. She proposes a solution to their problem to keep their friendship going strong, if Toadie is willing to make a change.

What will Toadie decide to do?

Digital Spy recently spoke to Ben Hall about the ways Neighbours will balance showing the sexy side of polyamory with practical realities of the arrangement.

"I think we're trying to do a bit of both. In true Neighbours fashion, they always want to keep it a bit sexy, a bit racy and turn a few heads," he said.

"But at the same time, all three of us have been having chats with the writers and producers about putting in as much material to make the story as true to life as possible.

"We don't want to depict it in a way that is overly sexualised or anything like that. We want to have viewers that are maybe not aware of polyamorous relationships be intrigued and learn something, rather than it just being a frivolous nothing, or a relationship that people just condemn."

Neighbours airs these scenes on Thursday, September 30 and Friday, October 1 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
