Netflix confirms Dwayne Johnson and Chris Hemsworth's new movies for 2021

Netflix shared exciting new updates about some of their upcoming TV shows and movies.

After major COVID-19 delays, many projects have now reached completion, this includes Red Notice and Escape from Spiderhead.

Speaking on Netflix's recent investor video (via Deadline), co-CEO and chief content officer Ted Sarandos revealed that these movies and a number of popular Netlfix series are set to air later this year.

Sarandos said: "What happened in the first part of this year was that a lot of the projects that we'd hoped to come out earlier did get pushed because of the post-production delays and Covid delays.

"And we think we'll get back to a much steadier state in the back half of the year, certainly in Q4 where we have the returning seasons of some of our most popular shows like The Witcher and You and Cobra Kai.

"As well as some big tentpole movies that came to market a little slower than we'd hoped like Red Notice and Escape From Spiderhead."

Red Notice has an all-star cast including Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds – it's set to be one of the biggest movies that Netflix has ever created. The movie is about an Interpol agent who attempts to track down the world's most wanted art thief.

Escape From Spiderhead is about a time set in the future where convicts can volunteer as medical subjects, in return their prison sentences will be shortened.

Red Notice and Escape From Spiderhead will air on Netflix later this year.
