Netflix's Ragnarok will return for season 2 on Thursday, May 27.

This imminent premiere date was confirmed at the end of a new teaser trailer, which gives fans of the Norwegian teen fantasy a glimpse at the trouble awaiting our main hero.

"I know you've been fighting alone..." a voice whispers to David Stakston's reincarnated thunder-god Magne Seier, "but you're not alone anymore".

Ragnarok's second season also ups the episode count, with eight on the way as opposed to six.

"What do you do when you're a 17-year-old high schooler who has just learned that you're up against an ancient and extremely powerful enemy that is holding an entire town, perhaps even an entire country, in an iron grip?" teases a synopsis.

In the trailer itself, there's also a major (demon-eyed) shock awaiting the protagonist, which solves one of the biggest mysteries from the end of season 1.

With just over two weeks to go until Ragnarok's return, this could be the perfect time to squeeze in a season 1 rewatch.

Ragnarok season 1 is currently streaming on Netflix, while season 2 arrives on May 27.
