The Brooklyn Nets will have Kyrie Irving for Wednesday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Nets coach Steve Nash confirmed Irving would start with Kevin Durant and James Harden.
It will mark the first time all three players have played together with the Nets.

The team also teased Irving’s return, putting out a pregame pump-up video Wednesday that featured Irving arriving at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland. The video featured every member of the Nets stepping off the bus at the arena. Irving can be seen at the 14-second mark.
Irving returned to the team Tuesday after missing seven games due to “family and personal stuff.” Irving said his teammates supported him while he was away. He also apologized to fans for missing games. Irving declined to answer a question about whether he violated the NBA’s health and safety protocols while he was away from the team. The NBA fined Irving $50,000 for not wearing a mask while attending a birthday party.
Kyrie Irving will play with James Harden for the first time
Irving’s return marks the first time he, Durant and Harden will take the court for the Nets. After a turbulent offseason, Harden forced a trade from the Houston Rockets. The team shipped Harden to the Nets on Jan. 13. Irving had already left the Nets at that point.
Despite not having Irving, the Nets have played well lately. The team is 9-6 on the season, and is currently on a four-game winning streak. Irving’s return to the team will only help.
If he, Durant and Harden can jell, there’s very little stopping Brooklyn from being the best team in the Eastern Conference.
