NewsBreak: Boeing, Apple, Small-Caps Lead Market Higher

Investing.com - Stocks were enjoying their best gains in four trading days thanks to gains in Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), Boeing (NYSE:BA) and small-cap stocks.

The S&P 500 was up 0.4%, with the Dow Jones industrials up 0.45%. The Nasdaq Composite added 0.7% at 2:50 PM ET (18:50 GMT). The U.S. SmallCap 2000 index had jumped 1.9% as prices started to attract bargain hunters.

Boeing (NYSE:BA), the priciest of the Dow stocks, was up 3.4% and added 86 points to the Dow's 131-point gain by itself. Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), up 2.6%, added nearly 39 points to the index on investor excitement in the stock after Tuesday's big new-product presentation in Cupertino, Calif.

Oil futures were lower. Gold Futures were modestly higher. The 10-Year Treasury yield was at 1.735%, up from Tuesday's 1.702% as interest rates generally were climbing.
