Nexen says Buzzard oilfield in North Sea shut down
LONDON, Oct (HKSE: 3366-OL.HK - news) 16 (Reuters) - The Buzzard oilfield in the British North Sea, which plays a role in pricing global crude exports, was shut down on Thursday after a glitch, its operator Nexen (KSE: 005720.KS - news) said on Friday.
"Normal operations are expected to resume, once all checks have been completed," Nexen said in a statement, following the "process upset" which prompted the shutdown.
The field is the largest contributor to the Forties crude stream, one of the four North Sea crudes which underpin the dated Brent benchmark. (Reporting by Alex Lawler. Editing by Jane Merriman)
