The New England Patriots canceled another practice as positive tests within the organization continue to arise.

The Patriots canceled their Friday practice after a positive COVID-19 test reported by Mike Reiss and Field Yates at ESPN. There is a second test in the organization that could potentially be confirmed positive as well.

The organization conducted meetings virtually on Friday.

The Patriots canceled practices last Wednesday and Thursday after reports COVID-19 was spreading throughout their roster. Quarterback Cam Newton was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list the week prior, missing the Week 4 game, and cornerback Stephon Gilmore was placed on it days after the game.

They had only returned to full practices on Thursday. Newton and Gilmore were both at practice. Only one player, defensive tackle Byron Cowart, remained on the reserve/COVID-19 list as of Thursday.

Will Patriots-Broncos be played in Week 6?

New England already had one game pushed back due to positive tests. It played the Kansas City Chiefs one day later than scheduled in Week 4 and flew in and out the same day.

The Patriots were scheduled to play the Denver Broncos in Week 5, but it was pushed back to this Sunday. There are no open weeks for either team inside the regular season calendar to reschedule this game if need be.
