Who would have thought that there would ever be a time when fried chicken and sneaker culture would collide? Well, judging from a recent Nike Air Max release, the impossible happened and Racks Hogan is giving all the context in the latest episode of Complex and In The Know’s The Flip.
“We got an Asian-only release. We got the Nike Air Max 90 ‘Fried Chicken,'” he says during the episode. “Alright now, the Fried Chickens is a cool sneaker. It got the lines goin’ in all kinds of crazy ways and what not. But, I’ll be honest with you. I think at a retail of $160, they may resell, but they may not resell for very high.”
All in all, if you were to take Racks’ word for it, this style may not be worth it.
“This is probably the first time I ever said no to some fried chicken,” he added. “But you know, I’m gonna have to say no on the fried chickens.”

With that said, let’s get into two more of this week’s hottest drops.
Craig Green X Adidas ZX 2K Phormar II
British designer Craig Green and Adidas Originals joined forces once again with another take on their collaborative ZX 2K Phormar sneakers. This time around, they’re presenting a blue, black and white colorway.
Adidas BOOST loyalists may notice some similarities in the sole units of this new release and the classic Adidas sneaker, with the translucent slip that sits just on top of the midsole. However, this much more elevated release takes a departure from the iconic shoe with a completely new and much more technical aesthetic.
Nike Go FlyEase
Next up is the already highly raved-about Nike Go FlyEase, which is the brand’s first-ever truly hands-free sneaker. Perfect for everyone from members of the disabled community to sneaker aficionados who prefer slip-on, lace-free designs, these kicks require almost no effort to put on or remove.
“It’s intuitive — easy on, easy off — and evidence of how design, innovation and engineering can meet to answer an ambitious North Star: the creation of a hands-free shoe,” Nike said in a press release.
This release is another way, along with the Nike Swim Hijab, that the respected sportswear brand is making its fashion more inclusive and accessible to marginalized communities.
The Nike Go FlyEase sneakers won’t be available for general broader purchasing until April 30, 2021. However, they’re currently available at StockX with an initial asking price of $199.
