MIAMI, FL--(Marketwired - Apr 9, 2014) - Last week, The Guardian nominated the Movember Foundation as one of the top five social media charity campaigns that achieved outstanding success. Especially popular social media are Facebook and Twitter. Movember is a foundation that was brought into life in 2003 with the mission to fundraise money to support men's health with a special focus on prostate cancer. Taking a look at its current numbers, it becomes obvious just how important social media have become nowadays in order to run a successful campaign: Movember has achieved no less than 1.2 million social media mentions just in last year. The foundation was able to increase its retweets by 45% and double its Facebook reach as well as collect more than $105 million in donations from all over the world.

The most famous event takes place every November, during the month of National Prostate Cancer Awareness, and gave the foundation its name: Movember. During the month, men across all countries are encouraged to grow a moustache in order to create awareness for prostate cancer. In 2003 a group of 30 friends in Melbourne, a city in the South of Australia, started the campaign by growing mustaches. Within 10 years this number has increased to over 4 millions. Supporters are playfully called "Mo Bros" and "Mo Sis" and are spread across more than 21 countries. In the United States alone 219,828 supporters helped to raise money in 2013. But Movember is not only supported by individuals who grow their facial hair. Because of their social media presence, the foundation is receiving more and more help from companies, not just individuals. One such company is Niwali Test-O-Boost Health Store, a renowned manufacturer of health supplements that has been actively fighting against prostate cancer for years and was happy to donate to a foundation that is fighting with the same goal. The company donated 1% of their revenues earned through selling products from their male line.

The Movember foundation uses their donations to fund health programs that are specifically targeted towards men, foster awareness for the risks related to prostate cancer and other male cancers, as well as provide a network for men who are sick to get physical and mental support. The foundation's efforts are by no means limited to the month of November. For 2014, they plan to fund an international clinical trial which focuses on advanced prostate cancer in men. This is in line with the agenda of Niwali Test-O-Boost Health Store, which supports a number of online and grassroot projects to raise awareness and fight against prostate cancer. "Prostate cancer is the number one cancer among men, but awareness and research funding lags far behind the prominence of this disease in male life," says Benjamin Ravaru, the company's CEO. "Spotlighting and ending prostate cancer is essential as part of our plan to transform the health of a billion people worldwide."

Niwali Test-O-Boost Health Store has been following their mission for many years. Through their online store they provide a variety of dietary supplements, which support immune system, health and general wellbeing. The company sets itself apart by offering products that are made of high-quality herbs and plants based on ancient Ayurvedic, Shamanic and Chinese medicine which detoxify and provide the body with important vitamins and minerals.
