North Sea Buzzard oilfield turnaround starts Nov. 7 - source
(Updates with company comment, details)
LONDON, Oct (HKSE: 3366-OL.HK - news) 8 (Reuters) - Maintenance work at Britain's Buzzard oilfield is scheduled to run for 8-1/2 days, starting Nov. 7, a trade source said on Thursday.
The field will begin ramping up from Nov. 12 and is set to return to full production within two to three days, the source said.
Supply of the four grades of North Sea crude oil that make up the Brent benchmark is set to reach its highest level in at least two years in November, even with the Buzzard field outage.
Buzzard is the largest contributor to the Forties North Sea crude oil stream and produces about 186,000 barrels per day (bpd).
Operator Nexen confirmed the November turnaround, but did not give a specific date or provide further details.
"Nexen UK Petroleum Ltd can confirm that a planned turnaround on Buzzard is scheduled for November. In line with company policy, Nexen (KSE: 005720.KS - news) does not publish production or maintenance operations information on an individual asset basis," it said.
Nexen said on Sept. 23 it had delayed the turnaround work on Buzzard to November from October. (Reporting by Amanda Cooper; Editing by Pravin Char)
